A Sense of Normalcy!

After our evacuation for Hurricane Ike and a week spent in College Station, our lives are finally getting somewhat back to normal. Schools are still out here in Pearland, but thankfully Lucas and Sophie go to school in Conroe which started back on Monday. You know it is bad when your three year old begs to go back to school. We had a crazy time in CS with our close friends Tommy and Carrie and their two dogs; JD, Lucas, Sophie and I and our two dogs and cat. Then the last day my parents came with their dog. Mom and Dad's place is a three bedroom patio home and with 6 pets and 2 kids can get a little crowded. Thankfully we all are safe and had very little damage to our house. My parents had no damage to thier home, but lost MANY trees.

The first day of school was a "nail biter". Lucas of course loves it and Sophie is adjusting quite well.

The new placemats in College Station make great gymnastics pads and a great hopscotch set.

Millie's bed was fit for a queen...a queen Chihuahua that is!

By Day 5 the kids had taken to hiding in the cabinets!

We became even closer to our neighbors as groceries were a little scarce, but cookies were not. As you can see tops are optional in our house (kids only please).

One of many trees down in at my parent's house in Conroe.

Minor Damage to our house in Pearland.

We hope everyone is safe and has power by now.

I was wondering about you with Ike. Glad your damage was minimal. Those are some great pics. Your comment about the clothes cracked me up.
